Amaré Stoudamire opts ouf of contract and becomes a free agent

Amaré Stoudamire is a free agent after deciding to opt out of his contract with the Phoenix Suns. The 27-year-old All-Star center, who averaged 23.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, will forfeit the $17.6 million he would have earned next season in the Suns. Anyway, Phoenix will try to resign Stoudamire to a long-term contract.
